Guitar, Mandolin, Fiddle, Vocals
Debbie Cantwell, the oldest of 9 children, grew up surrounded by music, as her parents and extended family were very passionate about playing and singing. She remembers many music filled evenings with aunts, uncles and friends all singing the current hits as well as old standards, and of course the many songs her mother wrote.
Debbie began playing the guitar and violin at around the age of 8 and since then has ardently pursued music of all types and styles. She studied with Gene Nastri the concertmaster of the Everett Symphony and Randal Bays, Irish fiddle and guitar Master. Her friends and family know Debbie as “the girl who plays the stringed instruments.” She also now plays the mandolin, viola, bass, banjo, and piano. Debbie is one of the founding members of Bayview Sound and has also played in several other bands over the years as well.
Debbie and her husband Lynn also provide sound reinforcement for the Band and for other groups and events.
Debbie is the happiest sharing her music with people who need the filling up of the heart that only music can fill and hopes to keep playing for as long as her fingers will keep pickin’.
